SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Jazz have called a Tuesday morning news conference to announce a front-office change.

Yahoo! Sports reported on Monday that longtime general manager Kevin O'Connor is being promoted in his executive role and being replaced in day-to-day duties by San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Dennis Lindsey.

O'Connor is a New York native who has led Jazz basketball operations since 1999. He orchestrated the 2011 trade that sent star point guard Deron Williams to the Nets rather than deal with his impending free agency.

Lindsey joined the Spurs in 2007.

O'Connor and Lindsey did not return calls by The Associated Press.

The Jazz have been to the postseason nine times while O'Connor was in charge. They were swept out of the playoffs by the Spurs in the first round this year.
