PORT DEPOSIT, Md. (AP) — A Port Deposit official says a propane tanker crashed into a condominium complex after losing its brakes coming down a hill.
Port Deposit Administrative Assistant Kathy Gray says the crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday. The driver was injured, but conscious following the crash and emergency personnel were called in to free him from the overturned truck. Gray said the tank was not believed to be leaking.
WBAL-AM reports that the condos and the town center were evacuated as a precaution, and electricity was turned off to some customers.
Port Deposit is on the banks of the Susquehanna River north of Baltimore in Cecil County.
