TAMPA, Fla. - A frequent pit stop for convention-goers in Tampa has been the CNN Grill, where the port-a-johns are air-conditioned and the food is free. Professional caricature artist Glenn Ferguson has been camped in the corner, capturing the famous faces wandering in and out.
Ferguson, who works out of Universal Studios, has sketched dozens of media and political types this week, including the Romney brothers, Mary Matalin, and Candy Crowley. He considers his most successful portrait to be Piers Morgan ("He loved it"), though he enjoyed James Carville ("I could draw it 100 times and never get tired of it") and Mitt Romney ("An amazing face. It's filled with geometric shapes.") Also fun: Newt Gingrich.
"Newt has so much going on under his lips."
