Former President Donald Trump mixed up the names of two GOP candidates running for Senate in Ohio during a rally Sunday.

Trump combined the names of J.D. Vance and Josh Mandel when referencing candidates he has endorsed just days ahead of the state's Republican primary.

"You know we've endorsed Dr. Oz. We've endorsed J.P. right? J.D. Mandel, and he's doing great. They're all doing good," Trump told the crowd in Nebraska.

Vance, a venture capitalist and author of Hillbilly Elegy, recently saw a jump in the polls after Trump endorsed him earlier this month, leading the pack against Republican challengers, including Mandel, Mike Gibbons, Matt Dolan, and Jane Timken.

Vance's opponents jumped on Trump's fumble, with Gibbons calling Vance "irrelevant" to the former president.

"To be fair, you really can’t blame Trump. No one knows who the real J.D. Vance is, as his views change faster than the weather in Ohio," Gibbons wrote in a message to donors Sunday obtained by Politico.

Earlier in the rally, Trump touted that he "aced" a cognitive test, poking fun at President Joe Biden for fumbling over his own words, according to Newsweek.
