Former President George W. Bush didn’t accomplish his mission Wednesday night.

During a speech at a George W. Bush Institute event, the former president attempted to castigate Russian President Vladimir Putin but ended up highlighting the biggest mistake of his own presidency.

“In contrast, Russian elections are rigged. Political opponents are imprisoned or otherwise eliminated from participating in the electoral process,” he said. “The result is an absence of checks and balances in Russia — and the decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq — I mean of Ukraine."

The former president chuckled at his slip before muttering "Iraq too." He paused and then said "75."

Bush shrugged off the comment and laughed while the audience joined in.
