President Joe Biden is contemplating a diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, according to comments he made on Thursday.
The move comes in response to the communist nation's human rights abuses and would result in no U.S. dignitaries attending the Games, according to a report. Athletes would still be permitted to go.

Biden made the comments while speaking in the Oval Office with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
It is "something we're considering," the president said.
Historically, the United States has sent a delegation to the games, and first lady Jill Biden led the group that attended the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, ESPN reported.

There is no timeline for when Biden plans to make a decision regarding the boycott of the Olympics, according to White House press secretary Jen Psaki.
