The diversity office for the School District of Philadelphia encouraged the district's teachers to attend a conference promoting gender transitions for teenagers, and that included several presentations on sex and masturbation.

The Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference, which took place virtually in July 2021, garnered viral attention Tuesday after videos were shared on Twitter by conservative activist and Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo, who said the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Philadelphia public schools had sent invitations to the conference via email to district teachers and staff. The Washington Examiner asked the district for comment.

In videos shared by Rufo, presenters can be seen describing their various sexual activities, ranging from organizing orgies to exploring various "kinks."

One presenter, named Chase Ross, graphically described how to use sexual paraphernalia properly and at one point, while holding a large artificial penis, remarked, "Give me two hours alone, and I'll get this in my butt."

In a presentation on gender transitions, Scott Mosser, a plastic surgeon at the San Francisco Gender Confirmation Center, told viewers that while he hasn't yet performed a gender transition surgery on a 12-year-old, he would at least offer a consultation "if one came our way."

"I do not have a minimum age of any sort in my practice," Mosser said. "There's no chronological age that says you won't get surgery."

"I think I've done one or two 13-year-old surgeries," he added.

In his thread detailing the particulars of the conference, Rufo said the event was hosted by the Mazzoni Center, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization that says it provides "quality comprehensive health and wellness services in an LGBTQ-focused environment."

The organization's website includes a section that directs those seeking more information on gender transition services to contact their office.

According to the Mazzoni Center's 2021 annual report, the group received over $5 million in funding from government contracts, far more than the roughly $200,000 in donations it received.

At least one Philadelphia elementary school, Alexander Adaire School, contracted with the center to provide educational services, which the center says are "rooted in LGBTQ theory and history."
