Montgomery County police and the FBI believe the suspect in an Olney bank robbery was wearing a wig with dreadlocks.

The suspect entered the Sovereign bank at 17920 Georgia Ave. a little after noon Friday, police said. He approached a teller, implied he was armed and demanded cash. The teller couldn't see a gun but handed over an undisclosed amount of the cash. The suspect then ran out of the bank, heading toward Morningwood Drive on foot.

No one was injured.

Police described the suspect as a black man who appeared to have dreadlocks at the time of the robbery. But when authorities searched the area around the bank, they found a dreadlock wig and a baseball cap with the same logo on its front and back that the suspect was seen wearing inside the bank.

The suspect is about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans.
