Mckinney Antonio White Jr., a 34-year-old District Heights man, has been identified by police as the victim who was shot and killed Monday afternoon at a shopping center in Prince George's County.

“He was sitting in a car at the Penn Station shopping center when the suspect apparently approached him and began firing inside the vehicle,” said Lt. Tammy Sparkman.

White’s death is the 15th killing of the year in the county.

Sparkman said officers have reason to believe that White’s murder was not random. “We believe he was the intended target.” Investigators, she said, are still working to determine a motive and suspect.
