LANDOVER, Md. (AP) — Prince George's County police say they are targeting six crime hot spots.

The two-week initiative that began this weekend focuses on the Langley Park, East Riverdale, Suitland, Kentland, Hillcrest Heights and Oxon Hill areas. Police say the main thrust of the initiative is getting as many guns as possible off the streets.

Police say the effort marks the second time this summer officers are targeting high crime areas.
