Famed fashion designer Oscar de la Renta was miffed last week when first lady Michelle Obama chose to wear a red Alexander McQueen gown over an American designer to the White House State dinner with China. Here's what de la Renta told Women's Wear Daily: "My understanding," de la Renta said "is that the visit was to promote American-Chinese trade — American products in China and Chinese products in America. Why do you wear European clothes?" Yeesh.
