OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — University of Oklahoma gymnast Jonathan Horton is set to try to win another Olympic medal when he competes in the high bar event finals.
Horton won the silver medal on high bar in the 2008 Olympics and is to compete in the finals of the 2012 event starting about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday.
Several Olympians with Oklahoma ties came up short in their medal bids Monday.
Former Oral Roberts track star Prince Mumba failed to advance out of the preliminaries in the 800-meter run. He had been the flag bearer for his native Zambia at the opening ceremonies.
Former Oklahoma Baptist runner Nickeisha Wilson finished 13th in the semifinals of the women's 400 and did not make the finals. Wilson last competed at OBU in 2006, before transferring to LSU.
