NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma assistant wrestling coach Jared Frayer has been eliminated from competition at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
The U.S. 66-kilogram freestyle wrestler fell flat against his opponent Ali Shabanau of Belarus in a two period sweep of 3-0 and 1-0 early Sunday.
Frayer was taken down 3-0 in the first period. He had the chance for a pushout in the final seconds, but couldn't capitalize on the opportunity.
Despite drawing his own color in the clinch, Frayer was unable to convert the takedown and was defeated by Shabanau 1-0.
