Police have identified the officers involved in a Friday morning bank robbery in which the robber took a teller hostage before he was shot by police.

Three Takoma Park and three Prince George's County officers fired at the suspect after he apparently tripped over snow and ice. The suspect, whose name has not been released because his family has not been notified, was carrying a 9 mm handgun but did not fire.

The Takoma Park officers involved in the shooting were acting Lt. Tyrone Collington Sr., Cpl. Thomas E. Black and PFC David M. Quante. The Prince George's officers were acting Sgt. Robbie Loveday, Cpl. Bryan Medina and Officer Osiris Lopez Jr.

All are on administrative leave.

Montgomery County police are handling the criminal investigation of the bank robbery and shooting because Montgomery officers responded to the incident, but were not involved in the gunfire.

A Prince George's officer was grazed in the leg by what is believed to be a richocheting bullet and has been released from the hospital. The bank teller taken hostage received a minor scrape on her arm. A customer in the bank, who tried to grab the gun from the suspect, was hospitalized after the suspect pistol-whipped him.
