Bo gets his vacation on  (ap photo)

The Obama family is in Maine today, about halfway through their mini-break to Mount Desert Island, home of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. On today's agenda: Tennis at the club, a little boating, the obligatory lighthouse visit.

Oh captain, my captain           (ap photo)

Reporters traveling with the president haven't seen much of him so far -- which is good. He's on vacation! Still, he's the president -- and a photo pool followed them around Frenchman Bay, just in case.

Hey now! Where are your life jackets?       (ap photo)

Their smiles already look a little forced. The pool reports also less than riveting:

Bill Burton, who was also at the Club, reports that the first family "played some tennis and hung out at the pool." He adds that director of advance and native Mainer Emmett Beliveau's "considerable tennis talent was on display."

We had only brief glimpse of first family and entourage as they entered and left the club. Pool was holding at another building at the BHC compound, where preperations were underway for a wedding this afternoon.

Pool now holding in van awaiting another movement soon.

Wait! The Obamas are escaping!               (ap photo)
