RENO, Nev. (AP) — President Barack Obama has arrived at Nellis Air Force Base near Las Vegas ahead of a campaign stop in one of the most economically downtrodden communities in the country.

Air Force One touched down at the base on Tuesday evening, almost an hour after the president left Reno on his third visit to the city in three months. Obama plans to meet with teachers and speak at Canyon Springs High School in North Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Education also was the theme on Tuesday, when he addressed a crowd at a community college in Reno.

Obama is spending millions of dollars in the key swing state that helped him win the White House in 2008. Polls show he is in a tight race with Mitt Romney.
