The major earthquake in Pakistan Wednesday did not do any damage to U.S. troops or training facilities in the region, Pentagon officials said.

The magnitude of the quake was estimated to be 7.2, striking a remote area of southwestern Pakistan, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

 Army Lt. Col. Elizabeth Robbins, a spokeswoman for the Pentagon, told The Washington Examiner, “our personnel in Pakistan are still assessing the situation.”
 
Robbins said that there have been no reports of injury to “our forces over there training at the behest of Pakistan.”
 
The epicenter was roughly 200 miles southwest of Quetta near Kharan, Baluchistan. Reports from the region said the earthquake could be felt as far as Punjab, Sindh, and Baluchistan provinces in Pakistan. Residents in parts of Iran and India also reported feeling the large quake.
