President Trump is speaking at a rally in Murphysboro, Ill., to support Republican Rep. Mike Bost’s re-election bid to the state’s 12th Congressional District.

Bost, a union firefighter and grandson of a coal miner, is facing a tough race against Democrat Brendan Kelly, the St. Clair County state’s attorney. Trump lost in the state of Illinois to Hillary Clinton during his 2016 presidential run.

Saturday’s rally comes hours after a shooting in a Pittsburgh synagogue that led to several citizen fatalities and left multiple police officers injured.
