President Trump is holding a “Make America Great Again” rally in Fort Myers, Fla., to rouse support for Republicans Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott.

DeSantis, a former representative for Florida’s 6th Congressional District, is trailing in a heated race for governor against Democratic candidate and Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, Florida’s first black candidate for governor. Scott, the outgoing state governor, is neck-and-neck with incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson in the Senate race. Trump won the state’s 29 electoral votes in the 2016 presidential elections.

Wednesday’s rally comes the same day as Trump’s insistence that birthright citizenship, which recognizes babies born within U.S. borders as citizens even if its parents are noncitizens, will be ended, and a day after his visit to Pittsburgh following a synagogue shooting.
