A good Samaritan in Kentucky is inspiring many across social media after he drove half an hour to Mayfield with a grill and truckload of food to feed the victims of this weekend's deadly tornadoes in the Bluegrass State.

"I know they don't have no electricity," Jim Finch said. "So that mean they don't have no restaurants, no running water. So, I'd just figure I do what I can do, show up with some food and some water."

He said he did the work that needed to be done to feed the people, according to a series of videos posted to Twitter.

"Hamburgers, chicken ... I got sausage, eggs, just the little simple stuff that you can have and not have to worry about making a mess," he said.

"You know, grab-and-go type of food," Finch added.

Finch is originally from Paducah, Kentucky, but traveled to Mayfield from Clarksville, Kentucky.

When asked if he owned a restaurant, Finch just shook his head and laughed.

"No, sir," he replied. "It just needed to be done."

Finch's work has been lauded on Twitter.

"This is [as] American as it gets," tweeted Robert O'Neill, a retired Navy Seal and the man credited with shooting and killing Osama bin Laden.
