A Maine State trooper found and carried an elderly man with Alzheimer's to safety Wednesday.

Trooper Tyler Harrington found 82-year-old Bernard Perry in a snowy ditch and carried him to his cruiser until an ambulance arrived.

Harrington located Perry after receiving a tip from a snowplow driver, according to a Maine State Police statement.

Perry, who had wandered from his home in Vassalboro, Maine, was suffering from hypothermia and frostbite. He was taken to Maine General Hospital in Augusta, where he is recovering.
