President Trump is speaking at a “Make America Great Again” rally in Pennsylvania to show support for U.S. Reps. Mike Kelly, who is seeking re-election, and Lou Barletta, who is running for U.S. Senate against incumbent Democrat Bob Casey Jr. this November.
All major polls show Casey in a double-digit lead.

Trump’s visit to the state comes as another stop in a campaign blitz across a number of states ahead of the midterms, and just hours after Hurricane Michael made landfall on the Florida Panhandle as a Category 4 storm.

Trump said his administration has been monitoring the storm closely and has been in “constant communication” with Florida Gov. Rick Scott. Trump said he did not cancel today’s rally because he “cannot disappoint the thousands of people that are there."

Facing a tough election year with Republicans facing an uphill battle to maintain control of Congress, Trump penned an op-ed in USA Today that attacked Democrats over "Medicare for All" health care proposals. Many Democrats in House and Senate races have used healthcare as a major campaign issue.
