Actor Johnny Depp has appeared to have some fun during his $50 million defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp was seen laughing throughout the court proceedings despite the heavy allegations of domestic abuse Heard has lodged against him.

When Depp's artist friend Isaac Baruch took the stand on the second day of the trial, he testified what he saw living in the penthouse suite down the hall from Depp and Heard. Baruch happily proclaimed Depp paid for the entirety of the penthouse, in addition to paying Baruch for his art.

As Baruch told the court about Depp's offer to live in the penthouse, which seemed all too good to be true, Depp snickered at his friend.

As Depp's lawyers revealed that Heard had yet to keep her promise to donate all of her divorce settlement from him to charity, Depp laughed again. It was his own accountant, Edward White, that wrote a $100,000 check to the American Civil Liberties Union and a $200,000 check to Children's Hospital Los Angeles. The donation to the hospital is allegedly the only one in Heard's name to date.

The front desk clerk of Depp's previous apartment building, where he shared a penthouse suite with Heard, was visibly frustrated during his deposition. Alejandro Romero, a veteran clerk of over 13 years, chose to stream while sitting in the driver's seat of his car and vaping. At one point toward the end of the questioning, Romero even started driving the car, prompting more laughter from Depp.

Heard's lawyers attempted to cross-examine Malcolm Connolly, a bodyguard for the actor for over 20 years, regarding Depp's alleged drinking problem. Connolly reported that he only saw Depp drunk twice.

"I think Jack Sparrow is more drunk than Johnny Depp," Connolly said to a laughing courtroom. Depp giggled along with everyone.

Still, the lawyers pushed, alleging that Connolly once saw Depp so drunk that he once exposed himself and attempted to urinate in a foyer.

"I think I would have remembered if I'd seen Mr. Depp's penis," Connolly said as Depp laughed.

Depp also took the stand to testify about the time a maid discovered poop on his side of the bed.

"On my side of bed, there was human fecal matter," Depp said. "My initial response to that was — I mean, I laughed. It was so outside — it was so bizarre and so grotesque that I could only laugh." The actor chuckled as he told the story.

"She tried to blame it on the dogs," Depp said when he saw Heard next. "They're teacup Yorkies. They're 7 pounds each."
