President Trump does not believe former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg would pose a threat to him in the 2020 presidential election and is doubtful Bloomberg would even make it through the Democratic primaries.

“I think he’d be so easy,” Trump said of Bloomberg in an interview with Fox Business Network’s “Trish Regan Primetime” set to air Tuesday night. “I don’t think he’ll get through the Democrats.”

Bloomberg is fueling speculation he’ll mount a presidential run in 2020, announcing last week he reregistered as a Democrat and appearing Saturday in New Hampshire at a rally organized by Moms Demand Action, a group that pushes for stricter gun laws.

Bloomberg pledged in June to spend $80 million in the midterms, with the goal of ensuring Democrats win back control of the House of Representatives. He was also expected to donate $20 million to Senate Majority PAC, a super political action committee controlled by those allied with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

The former mayor told the Associated Press he is focusing his attention on the November midterm elections, but said after that, “We’ll see what happens down the road.”

Trump said hat if Bloomberg were to run for president, “Democrats will eat him up.”

“You have a lot of people running,” he said. “I’m hearing names that are shockingly bad, but they’re nasty.”
