Besides germs and “dangerous” fruit, it turns out former President Donald Trump was also constantly on the lookout for attacks by pie.

Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen said the former president was constantly worried about being pied, according to the lawyer's behind-closed-doors deposition, reviewed by the Daily Beast. Trump’s fears about the prospect of a pieing came after he saw Bill Gates creamed, Cohen said.

“For some reason, that upset Mr. Trump terribly,” Cohen said. “We were all instructed that if somebody was to ever throw anything at him, that if that person didn’t end up in the hospital, we'd all be fired.”

Trump’s concerns about being pelted with food seemed to override other safety considerations, Cohen said.

“It wasn’t just one time. It was an ongoing and regular thing. As he would go out to various different open venues, he would always remind Keith [Schiller] to keep his eyes open,” Cohen told the Daily Beast. “He never would turn around and say, ‘If anyone throws a rock or a bottle.’ It’s always a pie. He always brought up that pie thing.”

Schiller is a former law enforcement officer and was Trump’s deputy assistant and director of Oval Office operations, as well as director of security for the Trump Organization.

Revelations about Trump’s pie phobia came out of the same case that produced details about the former president’s fears he could be struck with projectile fruits, such as tomatoes, pineapples, and bananas.

The civil suit involves accusations that Trump’s security guards beat demonstrators outside Trump Tower in September 2015.
