Former President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he will be hosting a news conference on the events of Jan. 6 at Mar-a-Lago.

The 45th president made the announcement in a statement emailed to supporters in which he questioned the validity of the House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 Attack and reiterated allegations that the 2020 election had been stolen from him.

"Why isn't the Unselect Committee of highly partisan political hacks investigating the CAUSE of the January 6th protest, which was the rigged Presidential Election of 2020?" Trump wrote. "Does anybody notice that they want to stay as far away from that topic as possible, the numbers don't work for them, or even come close."

The former president also took the opportunity to go after members of the GOP he deems as RINOs, or "Republicans in name only."

"In many ways a RINO is worse than a Radical left Democrat, because you don't know where they are coming from and you have no idea how bad they really are for our Country," Trump said.

RINOs are especially bad in Michigan's state Legislature, but for the most part, there are fewer RINOs around, according to the former president.

The RINOs never stood up for him, Trump said.

They did nothing to stop the actual assault on democracy, according to Trump.

"I will be having a news conference on January 6th at Mar-a-Lago to discuss all of these points, and more," Trump concluded. "Until then, remember, the insurrection took place on November 3rd, it was the completely unarmed protest of the rigged election that took place on January 6th."
