Social media debated on Saturday whether Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky is on the naughty or nice list thanks to a new Christmas photo he shared.
The Kentucky representative posted on Twitter a photo of him and what appears to be his family in front of a Christmas tree, with all seven of them holding guns.
"Merry Christmas!" Massie wrote on social media. "ps. Santa, please bring ammo."

The post comes four days after a deadly shooting at a Michigan high school that left four dead and seven wounded. Massie's post sparked controversy, with some condemning his post for being insensitive after Michigan's tragedy.

.@RepThomasMassie, since we are sharing family photos, here are mine. One is the last photo that I ever took of Jaime, the other is where she is buried because of the Parkland school shooting.

The Michigan school shooter and his family used to take photos like yours as well. pic.twitter.com/MsQWneJXAp
Other users found the photo to be quite patriotic and were inspired to take similar photos in the future.

Ethan Crumbley, the alleged shooter at Oxford High School, will be tried as an adult. His parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, pleaded "not guilty" to manslaughter charges at their arraignment hearing Saturday morning.
An online petition asking the school to rename its football stadium after a shooting victim gained thousands of signatures hours after the shooting.
Jonathan Van Norman, a campaign manager for Massie, has not yet responded to the Washington Examiner's request for comment.
