Tesla has recalled nearly a quarter of its vehicles over safety concerns.
Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has recalled more than 475,000 of its vehicles to address issues with the rearview camera and trunk that may increase the risk of crashing.
"Unavailability of the rearview camera display may affect the driver's rearview and increase the risk of a collision," claims the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Tesla is recalling all Model 3 and Model S cars sold between 2017 and 2020. This includes 356,309 Model 3 vehicles and 119,009 Model S vehicles.
The cable harnesses for the rear camera may have been damaged by the opening and closing of the trunk, NHTSA claims. Tesla owners can have this issue fixed by visiting their nearest Tesla Service station, where mechanics will inspect and install a guide protector and cable harness as necessary, free of charge.
Tesla is not aware of any crashes, injuries, or deaths that may be related to these particular issues, the regulatory agency claims.

On Dec. 21, the NHTSA announced its investigation into whether Tesla drivers could play video games on its interface while driving. In November, Tesla recalled 12,000 vehicles needing a software update for its emergency brakes.
