Eleven-year-old Miah Cerrillo snapped into "survivor mode" after watching her classmates and teachers massacred by a crazed gunman in the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting that left 21 victims dead.

The fourth-grader smeared another girl's blood on her body to convince the gunman that she was dead.

"My sister-in-law said that she saw her friend full of blood, and she got blood and put it on herself," said Cerrillo's aunt, Blanca Rivera, according to a report.

"My brother said she had bullet fragments in her back," she added.

The girl's father, Miguel Cerrillo, described watching law enforcement carry his injured daughter out of the elementary school and place her on a school bus. He reportedly wasn't allowed to join her. Instead, he had to speak with her through the bus window.

She told her father that she witnessed her teacher being shot to death and her phone slipping from her hands. Thinking on her feet, Miah used her teacher's phone to call 911.

When one of her classmates was shot and bleeding, Miah made a decision to lie on top of her, so it appeared that she was also dead.

Her classmate was still breathing at first but died before help arrived on the scene.

According to Miguel, his daughter had bullet fragment lacerations from her neck to her back, and her hair was singed from the gunfire. Doctors removed the fragments, disinfected her wounds, and bandaged her up before her Tuesday evening release.

The young girl spent the night in a state of panic, reportedly telling her father that "he's going to come get us," referring to the deceased gunman.

"Around midnight, my sister-in-law called me, and she was just crying like, 'I think it just hit Miah. I think everything came to reality. We're home, and she's just crying and having a panic attack,'" Rivera said.

"At this point, we just have to pray and ask God to help us move forward through this situation. I know it's traumatizing, and having an 11-year-old go through this, I can't imagine what she's feeling," she said, adding that she'll be visiting her niece frequently.

Miah's younger sister, a second-grade student, was also at the school during the shooting but is reportedly unharmed. The sisters reportedly have three other siblings.
