A "guilty" verdict was reached Thursday in the police shooting case involving a former Minnesota police officer who claimed she intended to use her Taser when she accidentally pulled her firearm, fatally shooting Daunte Wright during an altercation.
Many on social media have expressed passionate reactions to the verdict, both in agreement and disagreement with the jury's decision.
"Kim Potter makes the sign of the cross, and God help her. Ridiculous verdict in the #KimPotterTrial. An accident, however tragic, is not a crime!" wrote author and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza. "Who would want to be a cop these days?" he continued in a subsequent tweet.
