Denver police are investigating a shooting across city lines that took several lives.
Four people were killed and three injured in a shooting across multiple locations in Denver and Lakewood.
The event, which Denver police chief Paul Paze described as a "killing spree" in a Monday press conference, occurred Monday night and ended when the unidentified suspect died after attempting to evade officers.

Events began at 5 p.m. local time when the suspect shot and killed two women in Denver, according to a spokesperson for the Denver police. He then traveled to several intersections and opened fire, killing at least one man and injuring others along the way. Denver police spotted what they suspect to be the shooter's vehicle and attempted to pull him over, leading to the suspect exchanging gunfire with the officers, police said. He then drove to Lakewood, where someone called in a shooting. The victim there died, police report.
The suspect was chased through several stores, with multiple shoppers and employees getting injured during the pursuit, the spokesperson said. At least one officer was shot and was undergoing surgery during the press conference, police report.
The suspect was eventually shot and killed, although the Denver police spokesperson could not say if Lakewood police shot the suspect.
"Still unsure exactly if it was by Lakewood police or not, but he was then pronounced dead at the scene," the spokesperson said. "At this point, we do not believe there is any additional safety concern to the community."
