Country music legend Dolly Parton, viral internet star Doja Cat, and Taco Bell are cooking up a Mexican pizza-themed musical for the social media platform TikTok, the country singer confirmed Tuesday.

The new musical marks the return of the fan-favorite "Mexican Pizza" to the franchise's menu on May 19 after the dish was discontinued in 2020. The idea was inspired by a TikTok jingle written by Doja in March, and the musical was suggested by TikTok comedian Victor Kunda, who is also expected to appear in the production.

"Here it is y'all! We're making a musical about my favorite pizza, the Mexican Pizza," Parton shared on her Instagram, along with a photo of the script. "I can't wait for you to see it!"

The musical is based on a "true story of the internet losing its mind" and includes a script by writer and producer Hannah Friedman, who is a co-executive producer of Willow on Disney+, according to the photo. The score for the musical was written and composed by Grammy-winning duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, who became famous for making an album based on Netflix's Bridgerton.

“We sat down and composed a musical for Mexican Pizza,” Barlow said on TikTok. “And every song is a banger, if I do say so myself.”

In January, Parton, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week, said she hoped the pizza would return, adding that she and her husband Carl Thomas Dean love the fast food joint.

"I like soft-shell tacos," Parton told Insider. "I like the others, but they fall apart so bad, especially if you're riding around. So I always get a Taco Supreme, with the sour cream and all that, in the soft shell. I love that. I get an order of rice and beans. And I get mild sauce. I don't like to get it too hot and ruin everything."

The musical is set to premiere on TikTok on May 26, a week after the menu item returns. Other special guest stars are expected to appear, but no other names have been revealed.
