Sam Donaldson came out swinging against White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.

"She's had a lifetime achievement Oscar for lying," the former ABC News anchor said in a CNN interview Friday.

"Let's face it. I don't know her. I feel a little sorry for her because it's the boss who does it. She takes the cue from him," Donaldson said, referring to President Trump.

Sanders came under fire this month when the Mueller report was released showing she told investigators that there was no basis for her comment that “countless” FBI agents had told her they had lost confidence in former FBI head James Comey.

“I’ve acknowledged that the word ‘countless’ was a slip of the tongue but it’s no secret that a number of FBI, both current and former, agreed with the president’s decision,” Sanders said in response to the controversy.

In December, Donaldson criticized Sanders, comparing her with George H.W. Bush’s former press secretary Marlin Fitzwater, whom he said “didn’t try to insult reporters.”
