The Republican National Committee has raised more in the 2018 midterm election cycle than any other on record, and still has a few more weeks to keep adding to its coffers, an RNC official confirmed to the Washington Examiner Wednesday.
"This is our best midterm ever," the RNC official wrote in an email to the Washington Examiner.
The cycle runs from January 2017 to Nov. 6, and as of the end of September, the GOP organization had raised $269.9 million. About 10 percent of that came in September.
By comparison, the group had raised $163.9 million through the end of September in the last midterms in 2014, according to data the RNC provided.
Democratic donors have been reported as saying they aren't donating at all, or as much, to the DNC, and lay some of the blame for Democrats' loss in 2016 on the organization. Many progressive Democrats said the DNC worked to keep Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., from winning the presidential nomination.
But while the RNC has out-fundraised the DNC, other Republican organizations have fared worse than their Democratic counterparts, and many Democrats around the nation have raised more money than their Republican opponents.

Still, the RNC has registered 175,000 new online donors this year, which the group says shows that voters support the results seen so far under President Trump.
"The choice could not be clearer: results versus resistance," RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a press release. "President Trump and congressional Republicans have achieved many great results for Americans: the lowest unemployment in decades, more jobs here at home, and higher wages across the board. Conversely, Democrats have pushed their resistance agenda to the extreme and are now inciting the far-left mobs."
The group cited its field program as one of main reasons it's been able to raise so much money in a midterm cycle. RNC employees and volunteers have contacted 52 million voters by phone and at their front doors since January last year. Four million of those took place last week.
The previous record of 50 million contacts was set during the 2016 presidential cycle.
