Dennis Hof was found dead at one of the seven Nevada brothels he owned Tuesday by legendary porn star Ron Jeremy, according to reports.
The Republican state assemblyman candidate, who was facing charges of rape and human trafficking at the time of his death, had spent the previous night at a campaign rally and celebrating his 72nd birthday with Jeremy, Grover Norquist, former Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and the former "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss, reported the Daily Mail.
Hof’s campaign manager, Chuck Muth, confirmed Hof's death Tuesday afternoon on Twitter.
“I just confirmed with Nye County sheriff’s deputy that Dennis Hof passed away this morning,” Muth tweeted. “No other details at this point. I’m heading out to Love Ranch Vegas now. Official statement will come once I learn more.”

Nye County spokesman Arnold Knightly said that County Commissioner John Koenig also confirmed Hof’s death at a commission meeting Tuesday, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
“[Hof] went to sleep last night and didn't wake up," Koenig said.
Jeremy, who discovered Hof dead when he went to meet up with Hof before a campaign rally, told The Blast that Hof had not drank or done any drugs at the party.
Hof said he was inspired to run for state assemblyman because of President Trump’s success in politics.
“It’s all because Donald Trump was the Christopher Columbus for me,” Hof told reporters after winning in the primary elections in June. “He found the way and I jumped on it.”
The Nye County sheriff is investigating Hof’s death. Hof's name will remain on the ballot in the November general election.
