Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., is lashing out at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., saying that the minority members in the Democratic Party are being used as symbolic tokens of diversity.
"They put us in photos when they want to show our party is diverse,” Tlaib said in a tweet. “However, when we ask to be at the table, or speak up about issues that impact who we are, what we fight for & why we ran in the first place, we are ignored. To truly honor our diversity is to never silence us.”

In an interview that aired Sunday evening on CBS’s “60 Minutes”, Pelosi dismissed the new freshman progressive-wing of the party that includes Tlaib as “like five people.”
Tlaib and other younger progressives have at times found themselves at odds with the older and more pragmatic Pelosi.
In January, Tlaib predicted of fellow Democrats, “we’re gonna go in and impeach the motherfucker,” in reference to President Trump.
Pelosi responded in March to speculations that Democrats might attempt to impeach Trump by saying, “He’s just not worth it.”
Pelosi was also critical of the progressive proposed Green New Deal, which she referred to as “the green dream or whatever they call it.”
