Local police are responding to a possible active shooter situation at Druid Hills High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and authorities have issued a shelter-in-place order for students and staff at a nearby university.
Details surrounding the incident were not immediately clear, but the Emory College Police Department reported a "possible armed subject" on the college campus, according to a tweet by the university. The Atlanta Police Department has not been called to the scene, the agency told the Washington Examiner.
The college had sent an alert about an “active shooter” on the Emory University campus in a now-deleted tweet but later posted to confirm the incident did not occur at the college. However, the campus is still under a shelter-in-place order until further notice.
