Nick Cannon broke down in tears on Tuesday while announcing the death of his 5-month-old child over the weekend due to a malignant brain tumor.
The 41-year-old rapper and comedian said during an episode of the Nick Cannon Show that the condition of his young son, Zen, had worsened over the Thanksgiving holiday.
"I always noticed that he had ... a little, like, to me it felt like a sinus thing," Cannon said. "It was like a cough ... and I just wanted to check it out."

Cannon described Zen as having a "nice-sized head," which he called the "Cannon head."
"He always had this real interesting breathing," Cannon said, adding that he "really wanted to take him to the doctor to get the breathing and sinus things checked out."
Cannon said he took Zen in for a checkup on "his sinuses" where it was revealed that he had another condition in which fluid was building up around his brain. This caused his head to grow.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, things took an "interesting turn" as the tumor began to grow more, Cannon said.
