Another suspicious package addressed to CNN was intercepted at an Atlanta post office, network President Jeff Zucker said Monday.
“There is no imminent danger to the CNN Center,” Zucker said, explaining that mail to all CNN domestic bureaus is being screened at off-site facilities since several prominent Democrats and the news organization received pipe bombs in the mail last week.
Atlanta hosts CNN’s world headquarters. Monday's package is the third to involve CNN.
A package addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan was discovered at CNN’s New York offices last week, prompting the evacuation of the newsroom. A second package addressed to former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and CNN was intercepted at a New York City postal facility.
Packages were also addressed to former Vice President Joe Biden, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Democratic mega-donor George Soros, Democratic Reps. Maxine Waters of California and Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida, Democratic Sens. Kamala Harris of California and Cory Booker of New Jersey, and actor Robert De Niro.
Cesar Altieri Sayoc Jr., 56, of Florida, was taken into custody Friday and charged with five federal crimes in connection with the bombs.
