A New Jersey man fell nine stories from a Jersey City building Wednesday, landed on a BMW, and survived.

The man crashed through the roof of the vehicle that was parked below 26 Journal Square at 10:20 a.m., according to witness Christina Smith. She says the man stood up after the fall and said, "What happened?"

“I heard a big boom, and I didn’t think it was a person at first,” Smith said. “The back window of the car just busted out — exploded. Then the guy jumped up and started screaming. His arm was all twisted.”

“I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ I was shocked. It was like being in a movie,” she added.

Smith immediately called 911 before taking photos and videos of the scene. The man, who refused to identify himself to police, was rushed to a hospital and was still in critical condition as of Thursday, according to city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione. Police do not believe the incident involves any indication of foul play but are continuing an investigation, she added.
