Authorities in Nebraska are conducting an investigation into a police shooting that saw an officer shoot the driver of a vehicle that was dragging him down the road.
The incident took place Sunday after the officer responded to a road rage incident and attempted to pull over one of the drivers involved in the dispute, the Nebraska State Patrol said.
An attempt was made by the officer to stop the driver's vehicle in a convenience store parking lot, according to the report.

The officer made contact with the driver, identified as a woman, but she suddenly left, dragging the officer down the street as she sped off, police said.
The officer then discharged his firearm and shot the woman before he fell from the car, according to police.
A witness to the incident was then able to force the woman off the road, the report noted.
The woman and the officer were taken to a local hospital, police said. Both are expected to recover from their injuries.
