A Florida woman was taken into custody on Saturday after she left her 3-year-old child asleep on a sidewalk while she allegedly went to a nightclub for over an hour.
Shyla Heidelberg, 25, was arrested after the child was found asleep and wrapped in a blanket outside of a Fort Walton Beach apartment complex, the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office said.
"The discovery of a three year old child asleep on a concrete sidewalk at one in the morning led to three counts of child neglect without great bodily harm for a Fort Walton Beach area woman," authorities said in a statement.

Deputies responded to the incident and found two other unsupervised children inside the Choctaw Village Apartments, according to a report.
A security guard working at the complex initially spotted the sleeping toddler outside, the report noted.
Heidelberg was confronted by authorities when she returned to the apartment complex and told officers she had "gone out to a nightclub" roughly an hour and a half earlier, police said.
The mother was released from custody on Sunday and denied the allegations against her, according to the report.
"It wasn't true," she said. "I have proof that I wasn't in the club."
Ring doorbell footage can confirm that she did not leave her children to fend for themselves, Heidelberg argued.

"A couple people can state that I wasn’t there," she said in reference to the nightclub.
