The Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade might just convince Hillary Clinton to run for president again, according to one journalist.
Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, offered such a scenario in sharing what came to mind Tuesday morning after a leaked draft opinion indicated the high court is poised to reverse decades of access to abortions in the United States.
After calling the document, prepared by Justice Samuel Alito, "mind-blowing on many levels," Brzezinski shared a "random thought" she had as she was getting ready for the show.
"I was thinking about Hillary Clinton and how this just might put her over the edge and make her jump back in," Brzezinski said. "But it's just — this is the kind of news that rocks your world as a woman."

Clinton, the wife of former President Bill Clinton, has served as a U.S. senator and secretary of state. She made history in 2016 when she became the first woman to represent a major party in a U.S. presidential election. However, Clinton lost that contest to Donald Trump, who is flirting with another run himself. And so far, she has denied any interest in another presidential campaign.
"No, no, no," Clinton said while laughing when Brzezinski asked her in March if she was open to running again. "But I am certainly going to be active in supporting women running for office and other candidates who I think should be reelected or elected," she added.
"No, no, no."

The draft majority opinion leaked to Politico indicates the Supreme Court, which has a conservative majority, is on the precipice of overturning Roe, a 1973 case whose ruling legalized abortions nationwide. The opinion is not final, and votes among the justices might change before a ruling is dealt sometime in the coming months.

Still, Clinton was among many women who voiced dismay with the prospect of an abortion rights reversal.
"Not surprising. But still outrageous," Clinton said in a tweet in response to the report. "This decision is a direct assault on the dignity, rights, & lives of women, not to mention decades of settled law. It will kill and subjugate women even as a vast majority of Americans think abortion should be legal. What an utter disgrace."
