Melania Trump boarded a plane to visit children being held in detention centers in Texas on Thursday wearing a jacket that read, “I really don’t care, do u?”

The statement on the back of the green coat, photos of which were shared by the Daily Mail, prompted Twitter users to ponder what message she may have been trying to send.

Trump changed into a different jacket by the time she exited the plane, and her spokeswoman pushed back on the notion that her jacket had a cryptic message.

“She wore a jacket boarding an aircraft. Nothing more. As evidenced by today's visit, Mrs. Trump cares very deeply about all children,” Stephanie Grisham, Trump’s communications director, told the Washington Examiner.

Grisham was also quoted in a press pool report as saying: "After today's important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn't going to choose to focus on her wardrobe."

Grisham pointed to the freakout over Trump's shoe choice as she boarded a plane last fall to visit hurricane victims in Texas. Trump was photographed wearing high heels as she exited the White House, but changed into sneakers before Air Force One landed in Texas.

Trump was in Texas on Thursday to tour a holding facility for children who have entered the U.S. illegally.

Grisham said in a statement that Trump’s goal was to give support and hear more about how her husband’s administration can help reunite children with their families.

She had a discussion with officials at the detention center in McAllen, Texas, before touring the facility where she visited some of the detained children.

“I’m also here to ask you how I can help to reunite these children with their families as quickly as possible,” Trump said.
