NBC daytime host Megyn Kelly is likely to see her show ended soon, after her controversial comments this week about "blackface" Halloween costumes.

CNN, relying on anonymous sources, reported Thursday that Kelly's exit from the network "appears to be imminent" and that it would be a matter of "when, not if."

Kelly hosts the third hour of NBC's "Today" at 9 a.m. but she did not appear on the program Thursday. Her iteration of the show has struggled to find an audience since it launched just a little more than a year ago.

While talking about Halloween costumes during a segment on her show Tuesday, Kelly discussed whether it was acceptable for people of different races to dress as people or characters who are of other races.

"When I was a kid, that was okay as long as you were dressing up like a character," Kelly said, though she apologized on the next edition of her show.

She has since apologized amid backlash.
