Sen. Kamala Harris on Friday became the latest target in a string of suspicious packages that contained potentially explosive devices and were sent this week to prominent Democrats, according to multiple reports.
Federal and local authorities responded to a post office in Sacramento to investigate a suspicious package similar to the mail bombs prominent politicians and Democratic figures received this week.
“We are investigating reports of a suspicious package in South Sacramento,” sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Shaun Hampton said, the Sacramento Bee reported. “It resembles the ones that have been reported throughout the country.”
The package brings the grand total of known packages to 14 to date.
White, male suspect, Cesar Sayoc Jr., 56, was arrested Friday morning in connection to the pipe bombs, which were sent through the U.S. Postal Service.
Other targets include former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former President Bill Clinton and his wife former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former CIA Director John Brennan via CNN offices, Former Director of National Security James Clapper via CNN offices, former Attorney General Eric Holder, several Democratic members of Congress, Democratic megadonors George Soros and Tom Steyer, and Trump critic and actor Robert De Niro.
The first package linked to the string of mailed pipe bombs was discovered Monday at the home of Soros.
