A just-released email exchange between White House chief of staff John Kelly and a top aide obtained by BuzzFeed News reveals little love for Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., from the then-secretary of Homeland Security.
Kelly called the Massachusetts Democrat an "impolite arrogant woman" following a call Kelly described as "absolutely most insulting conversation I have ever had with anyone" in an email, reported BuzzFeed News.
The Feb. 8, 2017, email to Kevin Carroll, then senior counselor at DHS, was obtained by the news organization through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit along with thousands of others sent and received by Kelly, BuzzFeed News said.
“Absolutely most insulting conversation I have ever had with anyone,” wrote Kelly. “What an impolite arrogant woman. She immediately began insulting our people accusing them of not following the court order, insulting and abusive behavior towards those covered by the pause, blah blah blah.”
The court order referred to in the email was a temporary block of President Trump's executive order barring immigrants and refugees from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen for at least 90 days.
Neither a spokesperson of Warren's nor the White House commented to BuzzFeed.
