The main cast of the Harry Potter movies will be reuniting to reminisce on their adventures in filming the series in a 20th-anniversary special.

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, best known for their roles as Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the acclaimed film series, will appear in the "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts" HBO MAX special, according to Variety. The special, which is set to air on Jan. 1, 2022, will feature interviews and conversations with the cast as it provides viewers with an "enchanting making-of story."

"There's magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago," said Casey Patterson, the executive producer of the special.

"The excitement is palpable as they prepare to take their fans on a very special and personal journey, through the making of these incredible films," Patterson added.

Other notable cast members joining in for the reunion will include Tom Felton, James and Oliver Phelps, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Jason Isaacs, Bonnie Wright, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, and Gary Oldman.

"It's been an incredible journey since the debut of the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone film, and witnessing how it has evolved into this remarkable interconnected universe has been magical to say the least," said Tom Ascheim, president of the Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics.

The Harry Potter 20th anniversary special is being produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television, in partnership with Warner Horizon.
