In an interview in August, when asked about his vaccination status, Rodgers said he was "immunized" against COVID-19 and didn't want to judge those who hadn't been vaccinated.
That led people to assume he was vaccinated.
However, since news of his diagnosis broke Wednesday, it has been reported the quarterback sought an exemption from the NFL-NFLPA COVID-19 protocols, citing alternative homeopathic treatment he received from his personal doctor to raise his antibody levels.
That request was reportedly denied, and he has been treated as an unvaccinated player since.

The Packers were not able to confirm to the Washington Examiner that Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19.
The news comes days after wide receiver Allen Lazard was removed from the team's reserve/COVID-19 list.
