A GoFundMe page has raised more than $2.5 million for four children who are now without parents following the Uvalde, Texas, elementary school shooting.
Irma Garcia was one of the teachers who died at Robb Elementary School Tuesday while trying to protect her students. On Thursday, the family announced that her husband of nearly 25 years, Joe Garcia, had died from a heart attack.
Together, Joe and Irma Garcia reportedly had four children, ages 12 to 23 years old, according to the Washington Post.

A woman named Debra Austin, who claims to be a cousin of Irma Garcia, posted an update Sunday morning to the GoFundMe campaign for the Garcia family, thanking those who have donated.
“I would like to thank all the donors worldwide that have contributed to these wonderful kids. The prayers and love and support you have sent are so very much appreciated and needed as they continue their journey through life without their mother and father,” Austin wrote. “Joe and Irma were amazing people and two of the most loving parents we as a family have ever known. They were so proud of all their kids. They are loved and missed beyond what words can explain. Thank you again from the entire family.”

The GoFundMe account’s original goal was $10,000. More than 46,000 donations have come in since the campaign began three days ago.
